This is a program that allows students who meet the necessary success criteria and other conditions to take courses simultaneously from two different departments/programs with which the institution has agreements and obtain two separate diplomas. Students can enroll in only one major program at a time.
The application conditions and requirements are as follows:
Students can apply for a second major diploma program in the third semester at the earliest and in the fifth semester at the latest for four-year programs, in the seventh semester at the latest for five-year programs, and in the ninth semester at the latest for six-year programs in their major diploma program. For associate degree diploma programs, students can apply in the second semester at the earliest and in the third semester at the latest.
At the time of application, students must have a minimum general grade point average (GPA) of 70 out of 100 in their major diploma program and must be in the top 20% of the success ranking in their major diploma program.
To be eligible to apply for the double major diploma program, the student must successfully complete all the courses taken in the major diploma program until the semester they are applying for.
To graduate from the double major program, the student must have a minimum general GPA of 70 out of 100. Throughout the entire double major program, the student's general GPA may temporarily drop to as low as 65 out of 100. If the general GPA drops below 65 out of 100 for a second time, the student's registration in the double major diploma program is canceled. A student who continues in the second major undergraduate program can only receive the graduation diploma after graduating from the first major diploma program. The courses taken by the student in the major program and deemed equivalent in the second major diploma program are shown in the grade table. The maximum duration for students who have obtained the right to graduate from the major diploma program but could not complete the second major diploma program is determined by the Senate, starting from the academic year in which they enrolled in the second major diploma program, in accordance with Article 44/c of Law No. 2547. If a student does not take courses in the double major program for two consecutive semesters, their registration in the second major diploma program is canceled. The evaluation of the courses in which the student was successful in the second major program but not accepted in the major program is determined by the Senate. The courses in which the student was successful in the second major program but not accepted in the major program are included in the transcript and diploma supplement without being included in the general GPA.
Students enrolled in a specific program, who meet the specified criteria, can obtain a minor certificate by taking a limited number of courses related to a particular subject, which does not replace their diploma. Students can apply for a minor program in their third semester at the earliest and in the sixth semester at the latest in their major undergraduate program. Students who have successfully completed all the credit courses in their undergraduate program until the semester they are applying for can apply. The student must have a minimum general GPA of 65 out of 100 in their major program at the time of application.
